Berlin Alexanderplatz is a good place to walk around with a camera. Interesting people everywhere, and nice views. The Fuji X100 worked beautifully, as always. So much fun!

Street photography with the Fuji X100 in Bern
For many months I haven’t taken my X100 out to the streets. Partly because I bought a Sony NEX-7 in February, and the attraction of that shiny new tool was too strong to resist. Partly because I needed a versatile camera with a wide range of focal lengths. And yes, the NEX-7 is a great, powerful camera, especially with the 18-200 superzoom lens.
However, on Saturday I took out my X100 and went to shoot in the streets of Bern. The X100 feels great in the hand. It is such a pleasure to use. And it is completely quiet, which allows me to shoot people even from close without being noticed. The AF worked very well – reliable and fast. Lighting and white balance are, as usual with the X100, on the spot – even in very difficult light conditions. The dynamic range is amazing.

Spring in Infrared
Shot with the Fuji X100 and a 720 nm IR filter. Processed with Filterstorm on an iPad. The first warm and sunny spring day this May. The leaves were almost glowing in the sun. Shot at the river Sense near my hometown, Neuenegg, Kanton Bern, Switzerland.

A night and a day on the streets in Bern with the Fuji X100
This weekend I had the opportunity to take the Fuxi X100 out on a photo safari in Bern. Some of the phots were taken at night (after 11 pm) in the station, some on a very warm and sunny afternoon in Bern. I was positively surprised that a relatively large fraction of the shots were quite usable, at least from the technical point of view (sharpness, noise,…). Speaking of noise: the Fuxi X100 virtually has no visible noise up to ISO 3200. I was again amazed by its low light performance.
